All members of the BSC are eligible to enter. Friends, family and guests of a BSC member may enter with the prior agreement of the Organising Committee. Where the numbers of the Event exceed the time available to run the event, members of the BSC shall take precedence to compete in the Event.
There are no age or skill level restrictions. Competitors will a low level of experience must advise a member of the Organising Committee at the time of Registration so an assessment can be made by the Organising Committee whether any additional resources may be required to ensure the safety and enjoyment of the competitor.
All competitors must register via the Event website.
A registration fee of $5 can be paid via the website or in cash to a member of the Organising Committee, prior to or, at the Event. The registration fee will be refunded to competitors who do not compete at the Event, only if the competitor provides at least 24hours notice prior to the start of the Event that the Competitor will not be competing in the Event.
Registrations must be received no later than 24hours prior the scheduled start of the Event. Late registrations, received within 24hours of the Event start, will only be accepted at the sole discretion of the Organising Committee. Where a competitor was attempted to register via the Event website and the registration was not received by the Organising Committee, the competitor must notify a member of the Organising Committee.
If an Event is postponed by the Organising Committee to an alternate date, all registration fees will remain with the Organising Committee and apply to the revised Event. If an Event is cancelled by the Organising Committee, registration fees will be refunded to all competitors.
Generally, the Divisions will consist of:
• Beginners/Social/Fun surfers (defined by the Competitor declaring this at the time of registration
• Juniors (<18) (generally combined girls and boys, depending on numbers)
• Longboards (combined Women and Men)
• Open Women
• Open Men
• Open tag team
The number and type of Divisions for each is flexible depending on the number and skill level of the competitors. The Organising Committee will determine the number, type and combination of Divisions available for each Event, based on the number of competitors, skill levels and division entered, to maximise the fun and enjoyment of all competitors.
The Open tag team is a novelty division to promote and emphasis fun for all participants and associates of the Event. It will be held when there are at least two teams of a mixture of Divisions. Refer to section 3.10 for the tag team competition rules.
